We are pleased to announce the opening of the Digital Humanities Center at the University of Bern.

A centre is not built alone. What we are opening on 15 September has grown over many years of collaboration: with libraries, archives and museums, with research projects in Switzerland and abroad, with colleagues across the disciplines, and with everyone curious enough to try digital methods with us. Much of what you will see that afternoon exists because of these cooperations. We would like to thank you for them and raise a glass with you.

The DHC remains firmly anchored in the Walter Benjamin Kolleg and will continue to be a vital part of it. This is also where our study programmes are at home: the PhD programme in Digital Humanities as well as the Master Major (90 ECTS) and the Master Minor (30 ECTS) in Digital Humanities. If you would like to know more – for yourself or for students you supervise – there will be plenty of opportunity to talk on the day.
