In this session

Everyone presents their workflow — the Lab assignment.

Format

  • 10–15 minutes per presentation, plus discussion
  • Show the actual thing: the data, the model, the code, the output. A slide deck about a workflow is not a workflow.
  • Live demonstration is welcome and allowed to fail

What to cover

  1. The question. What are you actually trying to find out?
  2. The data. Where it came from, what shape it is in, what you had to do to it
  3. The data model. Show the diagram. Justify one decision and name one you are unsure about.
  4. The analysis. Which method, which tool, which parameters
  5. The publication. Where it lives and who can reach it
  6. What went wrong. Required, not optional. The failures are the most useful part of the session for everyone else in the room.

Feedback

Each presentation gets structured feedback from the group:

  • One thing that clearly works
  • One thing that is unclear
  • One concrete suggestion

Take notes. The written assignment is due after this session, and the feedback is meant to go into it.
